Three days through the Lake District’s dramatic valleys and mountain passes, followed by three days on the legendary Isle of Man TT course.

Terms & Conditons

These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) govern your use of the services provided by Lake District Motorcycle Tours (“we”, “us”, “our”) for motorcycle tours, rentals, and related services (“Services”). By booking a tour, renting a motorcycle, or using any of our Services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Booking and Payment

Booking Confirmation: All bookings must be confirmed through our website or directly with our team. A booking is only considered complete once you receive a confirmation email from us.
Deposit and Payment: To secure your booking, a deposit may be required. Full payment for the tour or rental must be made prior to the start of the service unless otherwise agreed. Payments can be made via credit card
Cancellation Policy:
No-shows or cancellations made less than 48hrs of the tour date are non-refundable.
Weather and Force Majeure: In the event of extreme weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control (force majeure), we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the tour. In such cases, we will offer a full refund or an alternative date based on your preference.

2. Eligibility and Requirements

Age Requirement: All riders must be over 25 years old and under 70 unless – all other age groups would require referral for insurance approval.
Licensing and Experience: Riders must possess a valid motorcycle license for the class of motorcycle they will be riding. that is recognized in the UK or an international equivalent. Riders must have no more than 6 points on their licence or any prior convictions for drink/drug driving. Riders must have no pending convictions.
Health and Fitness: Riders must be physically fit to operate a motorcycle and should not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that could impair their ability to ride safely. If we believe a rider is unfit to participate for any reason, we reserve the right to refuse service. For safety, we recommend that riders have prior experience riding motorcycles on public roads.

3. Tour and Rental Terms

Motorcycle Rental:

Motorcycles are provided with full fuel, and you must return them in the same condition, with a full tank of fuel, unless otherwise agreed.
The motorcycle must be used in a safe and legal manner, following all road traffic laws.
Damage or loss of the motorcycle during the rental period will incur additional charges for repairs or replacement. You will be held responsible for any damage or theft.
Tour Guidelines:
Riders are expected to follow the guide’s instructions during tours and adhere to the route and schedule set by us.
We reserve the right to terminate any tour without refund if a rider behaves recklessly, endangers themselves or others, or fails to comply with our instructions or safety regulations.
Safety Gear: Appropriate safety gear is mandatory for all riders. This includes a DOT-approved helmet, gloves, protective clothing, and sturdy boots.
Compliance with Regulations: Riders must comply with all local traffic laws and regulations during the tour.
Emergency Contacts: Provide emergency contact information and any relevant medical information to the tour organisers.

4. Insurance

Motorcycle Rental Insurance: Rental motorcycles come with fully comprehensive insurance coverage.
We strongly recommend that you have travel insurance if relevant that covers motorcycle riding. We do not provide personal injury or medical insurance for participants. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are adequately insured.

5. Credit Card Security Deposit and Holding Period

A security deposit of £300 will be held on the renter’s credit card for the duration of the rental period and may take up to 7-10 business days to be released after the vehicle is returned, depending on the renter’s banking institution.

6. Conditions for Refund

The security deposit will be fully refunded provided the following conditions are met:

The vehicle is returned in the same condition as it was rented, with no damages or excessive wear and tear.
The vehicle has been returned with the agreed-upon fuel level.
No traffic violations, toll charges, or parking fines have been incurred during the rental period.
All rental fees and charges have been paid in full.

7. Deductions from Deposit

In the event that any of the conditions for refund are not met, the rental company reserves the right to deduct the appropriate charges from the security deposit. These charges may include, but are not limited to:

Cost of repairs for any damages to the vehicle.
Charges for refuelling if the vehicle is not returned with the agreed fuel level.
Payment for any traffic violations, toll charges, or parking fines incurred.

8. Disputes

Any disputes regarding deductions from the security deposit must be made in writing within 14 days of the vehicle’s return. The rental company will review the dispute and provide a response within 30 days.

9. Rental Agreement Compliance

It is the renter’s responsibility to comply with all terms of the rental agreement. Failure to do so may result in partial or full forfeiture of the security deposit.

By agreeing to these terms and conditions, the renter acknowledges understanding and acceptance of the credit card security deposit policy and the associated requirements for hire vehicles.

10. Liability and Safety

Assumption of Risk: By booking a tour or renting a motorcycle, you acknowledge and accept the risks involved in motorcycle riding, including the possibility of accidents, injuries, or death. You agree to ride at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability: Our liability for any loss, damage, or injury to you is limited to the amount paid for the specific service, except in cases of negligence or intentional misconduct on our part.
We are not liable for any third-party services (e.g., hotels, restaurants, or other services) that you may use during the tour.
Safety Equipment: We recommend that all riders wear appropriate safety gear, including a helmet, gloves, and protective clothing.

11. Code of Conduct

Riding Etiquette: Riders must respect other participants, the guide and the general public during the tour. We expect all riders to conduct themselves in a responsible, safe, and courteous manner at all times.
Alcohol and Drugs: The use of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited during tours . Riders found under the influence will be removed from the tour or have their rental terminated immediately, without a refund.
Environmental Responsibility: Riders are expected to respect nature and follow environmentally friendly practices. This includes not littering and avoiding damage to natural landscapes.

12. Amendments to the Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website, and the new terms will be effective immediately upon publication. By continuing to use our services after such changes, you agree to be bound by the updated terms.

13. Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for information on how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from this Agreement shall be resolved through binding arbitration in the United Kingdom, unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties
