These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) govern your use of the services provided by Lake District Motorcycle Tours (“we”, “us”, “our”) for motorcycle tours, rentals, and related services (“Services”). By booking a tour, renting a motorcycle, or using any of our Services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Booking and Payment
- Booking Confirmation: All bookings must be confirmed through our website or directly with our team. A booking is only considered complete once you receive a confirmation email from us.
- Deposit and Payment: To secure your booking, a deposit may be required. Full payment for the tour or rental must be made prior to the start of the service unless otherwise agreed. Payments can be made via credit card, bank transfer and cash (GBP only).
- Cancellation Policy: No-shows or cancellations made less than 48hrs of the tour date are non-refundable.
- Weather and Force Majeure: In the event of extreme weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control (force majeure), we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the tour. In such cases, we will offer a full refund or an alternative date based on your preference.
2. Eligibility and Requirements
- Age Requirement: All riders must be over 25 years old. Riders under 25 years old must be referred to Insurance Company for approval.
- Licencing and Experience: Riders must possess a valid motorcycle licence for the class of motorcycle they will be riding. that is recognised in the UK or an international equivalent. Riders must have no more than 6 points on their licence or any prior convictions for drink/drug driving. Certain offenses, like those involving theft or unauthorised taking (UT), drink or drugs (DR), dangerous driving (DD), driving while disqualified (BA), and careless driving (CD), are often flagged by insurers and can lead to hire refusal. Riders must have no pending convictions.
- Health and Fitness: Riders must be physically fit to operate a motorcycle and should not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that could impair their ability to ride safely. If we believe a rider is unfit to participate for any reason, we reserve the right to refuse service. For safety, we recommend that riders have prior experience riding motorcycles on public roads.
3. Tour and Rental Terms
- Motorcycle Rental: Motorcycles are provided with a full fuel tank. The motorcycle must be used in a safe and legal manner. Damage or loss of the motorcycle during the rental period will incur additional charges for repairs or replacement. You will be held responsible for any damage or theft.
- Tour Guidelines: Riders are expected to follow the guide’s instructions during tours and adhere to the route and schedule set by us. We reserve the right to terminate any tour without refund if a rider behaves recklessly, endangers themselves or others, or fails to comply with our instructions or safety regulations. If we consider a rider is behaving recklessly, then the guides decision is final.
- Safety Gear: A DOT-approved helmet is mandatory for all Tours, you are advised to wear gloves, protective clothing & sturdy boots.
- Compliance with Regulations: Riders must comply with all local traffic laws and regulations during the tour.
- Emergency Contacts: Provide emergency contact information and any relevant medical information to the tour organisers.
4. Insurance
- Motorcycle Rental Insurance: Rental motorcycles come with fully comprehensive insurance cover.
- We do not provide personal injury or medical insurance for participants. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are adequately insured.
5. Rental Agreement Compliance
It is the renter’s responsibility to comply with all terms of the rental agreement.
6. Liability and Safety
- Assumption of Risk: By booking a tour or renting a motorcycle, you acknowledge and accept the risks involved in motorcycle riding, including the possibility of accidents, injuries, or death. You agree to ride at your own risk.
- Limitation of Liability: Our liability for any loss, damage, or injury to you is limited to the amount paid for the specific service, except in cases of negligence or intentional misconduct on our part.
- We are not liable for any third-party services (e.g., hotels, restaurants, or other services) that you may use during the tour.

7. Code of Conduct
- Riding Etiquette: Riders must respect other participants, the guide and the general public during the tour. We expect all riders to conduct themselves in a responsible, safe, and courteous manner at all times.
- Alcohol and Drugs: The use of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited during tours . Riders found under the influence will be removed from the tour or have their rental terminated immediately, without a refund.
- Environmental Responsibility: Riders are expected to respect nature and follow environmentally friendly practices. This includes not littering and avoiding damage to natural landscapes.
8. Photography and Media Consent
- By participating in our tours, you may be photographed and/or video recorded. These images or recordings may be used for promotional purposes, such as on our website, social media channels, printed materials, or other marketing platforms.
- We will not use images in which you are clearly identifiable without your prior consent, which will be requested at the time of booking or before the start of the tour.
- You may withdraw this consent at any time by notifying us in writing or by email.
9. Amendments to the Terms and Conditions
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website, and the new terms will be effective immediately upon publication. By continuing to use our services after such changes, you agree to be bound by the updated terms.
10. Privacy Policy

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from this Agreement shall be resolved through binding arbitration in the United Kingdom, unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties
